• Welcome!

I am a momma, a natural light photographer and lover of black and white photography.

I accept a limited number of clients and all sessions are on-location. My service area is in Scottsville Kentucky and also the South Central Kentucky area (Franklin, Bowling Green, Glasglow, Russlleville) and Northern Middle Tennessee (Gallatin, Hendersonville, White House, Portland, Cross-Plains, Westmoreland).

If you live outside these areas or are interested in booking a session please contact me by clicking here.

What a crazy week I’ve had. Monday I got a call from the school, an hour before they let out, that my son was sick. He’s been home sick the rest of the week with a very mean virus. Thankfully, this evening he seems to be turning a corner and is up running around as usual. However, the rest of the week he stayed in bed or on the couch, watched movies, rested and ate some ice cream. I was able to get in a little photography this week in between his fever spikes. Here’s one where he woke up around 5:30 am and what else was there to do but watch a movie and eat an ice cream cone. The best part of being sick is your parents letting you do and eat whatever, right? Didn’t we all do that when we were little? 😉

I made it through days 11-20 with only missing one day of my 365 project so far. I think that is an awesome start! The highlight of this set of images is the birth of our baby rams.  <3  On our farm in, South Central Kentucky, we have two ewes that were ready to have lamb any time. When my husband arrived at the farm for the weekend, he called to tell me one of the ewes had her lambs! That’s right, twins!!! I couldn’t wait to get to the farm and see those cute little babies. They were so soft, sweet and tiny! Awe, just look at how adorable these newborn twins are.  Please feel free to look through the rest of my week and leave me some love if you’d like.

I made a promise to myself at the end of 2013 that I would attempt a 365 personal project for 2014. So far I’ve only missed one day, yesterday! I really am patting myself on the back for hanging in there so far. When the weather starts to get warmer, in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky, I plan to challenge myself with a couple of monthly projects that will flow with my 365 project. My goal is to shoot everyday so I can become a better photographer and to learn more about photography from those I admire. Here’s to hoping I can stick out the other 345 days this year. 😉

farm life watching daddy feed the animals as morning choirs snow dusting in south central kentucky siblings playing in the snow with their dog cold afternoon in january sipping a juice box, watching football beside the fire slow to wake up on a school morning coloring and playing with every toy in the house watching movies in mommy best way to warm up on a sub 0 day, steamy shower watching iphone and eating breakfast morning light out west window almost 2 and potty training

Better late than never, right!?!?! 2013 was a great year for many reason. As I look through the images I took in 2013 and see my growth, I am humbled. I meet some really awesome girls that encourage and inspire me to keep on learning. And, I wouldn’t be where I am today without some awesome instruction from two very talented women. I can only hope 2014 will be just as wonderful as 2013 and can’t wait to learn lots more. Below are 13 of my favorite images from 2013. Enjoy!

Last weekend the weather was suppose to be bad, a chance of ice. So, I went to the store and stocked up on food and crafts. I needed to catch up on our Christmas counted down (I didn’t make out an official advent calendar.) with the kids anyway.  We stayed put in Tennessee and enjoyed some family time. The winter weather ended up being to our west and north, but we had a great time anyway.  One of the fun things we did was make marshmallow treats.  My son and I made the treats while his little sister napped.  He stuck with it to the end and then took a small batch to his teacher on Monday.   And, she would be proud of his math skills.  :)
